Create Basic Custom Scorecard

To extend the capability of the “Scorecard” feature to allow Merchants use variables, a custom Scorecard variable can be created. This custom variable enables users to tailor their scorecard metrics to specific business needs, offering greater flexibility and adaptability within our platform. To create a custom scorecard variable:

  1. Navigate to Scorecards on Menu

  2. The click the Create Variable


  1. Variable Name: Input your desired variable name.

    • Key: Key is used to uniquely identify variable and auto-generated based on variable name

  2. Select Basic Variable

  1. Type: When creating a custom variable, the variable type is crucial as it dictates how the data behaves and is interpreted within the system. Here are some basic variable types and their behaviors to consider when designing a new variable:

    1. Text(String): Text variables are used to store alphanumeric characters i.e word.

    2. True or False(Boolean): They are commonly used for binary data or conditions, where an assertion in the analysis is either Yes / No.

    3. Date: Date variables store calendar dates and timestamps. When creating a custom variable of date type, consider formats needed for accurate date representation and decisioning in the analysis.

    4. Number: Number variables represent numerical data and can include integers or decimals Subtypes of number variables can further refine the behavior of numerical data:

  2. Number (Type Unit): This subtype categorizes numerical data based on the type of quantity being measured. When creating a custom variable of number type with a unit subtype, consider the following subtypes:

    • Plain Number: Represents a generic numerical value without any specific unit or context. It can be used for general numerical data such as counts or scores.

    • Amount: Represents a quantity of currency, typically accompanied by a specified unit Naira (₦).

    • Percentage: Represents a proportion or ratio expressed as a percentage.

  3. Variable have specific options: They are commonly utilized for selective data 'word' or free-form input when using custom scorecard variable. It ensures that it can accommodate range of characters and lengths to capture diverse textual information accurately.
