User Guide: Loan Product Groups

Loan Product Groups 

The Loan Product Groups section contains all the information needed to create and manage your loan product groups.

To get to this page, simply log into the Merchant Portal and click on the Loan Product Groups Tab on the Menu Navigation bar.

You will be presented with the following features.

1. View all Loan Product Groups

2. Create New Loan Product Group

3. Edit a loan product group

4. Link loan product

5. Unlink loan product

6. Enable a loan product group

7. Disable a loan product group

1. View all Loan Product Groups

Once you sign up to the merchant portal and click on the loan product groups, you will be presented with a table that displays all the loan product groups created under your account. It displays the following info on them:

• Name of Loan Product Group

• Status of Loan Product Group

• Description of the Loan Product Group

• Search Filter: You can search through available loan product groups on the table using the search filter on the side of the page
  

  

2. Create New Loan Product Group

This feature allows an admin (or a user with sufficient rights) the ability to create Loan Product Groups that their customers can apply for via the Originate Platform. 

The Loan Product Creation is split into the following subsections

i). Basic Information

ii). Loan Products
iii). Loan Product Attributes

Once a user has completed all aforementioned sections within the form, they can successfully create their loan product group. 

i). Basic Information

This section contains details which define the basic metadata associated with the loan product group you are creating. It requires the user to input the following information:

• Name of Loan Product Group

• Description of Loan Product Group
  
  

  

ii). Loan Products

This section collects information on the loan product groups that are linked to the loan group you are creating. In this section you can link the active loan products to the loan product group you are creating.

Please note when creating a loan group, you will need to at least link one active loan product before you can successfully create a loan product group. 

iii). Loan Attributes

This section collects information on the loan attributes that are linked to the loan group you are creating.

Loan attributes help merchants to be able to curate an application flow that suits the loan products.

In this section you can select the attributes that you’d like for the loan product group you are creating.

3. Edit a Loan Product Group

This feature  kicks off the process of changing some details of a created loan product group.

This feature allows an admin (or a user with sufficient rights) the ability to edit Loan Product Groups that their customers can apply for via the Originate Platform. 

The user is allowed to make edits to the following sections:

i). Basic Information. The user can edit the name and description of the loan product group

ii). Loan Products. The user can choose to link/unlink the loan products attached to this loan product.

Please note when editing a loan group, you can unlink any number of loan products as long as at least one active loan product is still linked to a loan group.

4. Link a Loan Product to a Loan Product Group

This feature kicks off the process of grouping loan products under the same loan product group. When linking a loan product to a loan product group, you are simply attaching the loan product to fall under the loan product group.

Please note that you can only link active loan products. You might need to activate the loan products that you’d like to link first before trying to link loan products.

5. Unlink a Loan Product to a Loan Product Group

This feature kicks off the process of removing loan products associated with a loan product group. When unlinking a loan product from a loan product group, you are simply disassociating the loan product from the loan product group.

Please note when unlinking a loan group, you can unlink any number of loan products as long as at least one active loan product is still linked to a loan group.

6. Enable a Loan Product Group

This feature kicks off the process of activating a loan product group. 

Please note that you can only activate a loan group if at least one active loan product is linked.

7. Disable a Loan Product Group

This feature kicks off the process of deactivating a loan product group.

Please note the following:

• One will not be allowed to disable a loan product if the loan product is linked to an active loan group.

• One will not be allowed to disable a loan product if it is the only active loan product linked to an active loan product group

How the feature works

1. Merchant signs in on MP

2. Navigate to the loan product groups tab

3. Merchants can create a new loan product.

4. After creating a new loan product group, it will appear on the list of loan product groups created on the application and is saved as a draft. The merchant will need to enable it for it to be in use.

5. Once activated, new applicants on CP will be able to view the new loan product group and choose it during loan application on both sign up and sign in

6. Once the customer chooses the product, the attributes selected for that loan product group on MP, is the application flow that will be on CP for the customers.
